Chateau d'Aqueria - Lirac white 2019

Why not take advantage of having served last night in a Red mullet with bouillabaisse aroma, fennel like a "risotto", fried squid to test this Lirac white I made back in May



Lirac, Cru des Côtes du Rhône, stages its vines on terraces and hillsides on four towns on the right bank of the Rhône, between scrubland, mistral and arid lands bathed in bright sunshine.







The AOC Lirac is located 15 kilometers north west of Avignon, on the right bank of the Rhône, in the Gard department. It covers a Mediterranean area, bathed in light and open to the mistral. The 750 hectares of the appellation covers 4 municipalities: Lirac, Saint Genies de Comolas, Saint Laurent des Arbres and Roquemaure, birthplace of the Côtes du Rhône.







The white Lirac from Château d'Aqueria consists of Grenache Blanc (40%), Bourboulenc (25%), Clairette (16%), Roussane (12%) and Viognier (7%), the vine is cultivated on soils limestone scree, the grape varieties were harvested manually at maturity and the harvest was not destemmed in order to avoid any oxidation.



The robe is a brilliant yellow with golden reflections, open 1/2 hour before consuming between 10 and 12 ° C, this Lirac reveals scents of flowers and white fruits, on the palate mixing minerality, finesse and freshness.


Very good match with this red mullet with Mediterranean flavors and this "fennel risotto" impregnated with the flavors of the bouillabaisse aroma.


To drink before 2024 and for less than 15 €, this beautiful Rhone wine will accompany fish or shellfish dishes.
