Château d'Or et de Gueules - Parle à mon fût 2019
I do not know if it is due to confinement, at the return of sunny days, but I want buddy wines, aperitif wines, tapas wines.
So when I discovered this rosé wine, I couldn't help ordering two bottles, one for tasting, one for after release.
Château d'Or et de Gueules, already that on a medieval side, but "Parle à mon fût"......
Okay at first, it's pretty childish as a gesture of purchase, but I apologize, the reviews were good.
The Château d'or et de Gueules is located in the southern Rhône at Saint Gilles in the Gard, the Château is a family property of around fifteen hectares operated by Diane de Puymorin, Mathieu Chatain and their daughters.
The name of the domain comes from the family crest of the Puymorin family and dates from the 12th century. "L 'or" represents the typicity of the South Rhône terroir focused on scale and richness, and "Gueules" means red in heraldry and reflects the powerful and elegant character of the wines.
"Parle à mon fût" is a rosé composed of 80% Syrah and 20% Grenache. The syrah are harvested at night to prevent excessive extraction of the color and allow this rosé to have a clear robe. The first juices extracted from the press, then little colored, are racked (The muds are the waste resulting from the pressing of unfermented grapes, they contain solid particles from the skins, seeds, stalks) in stainless steel tanks and then vinified. Half of the harvest is vinified in 500L barrels to add body to the wine, without marking it with aromas from the barrel. The other half of the harvest is vinified in stainless steel tanks.
The dress is a bright light pink. Nose with notes of red and black berries. Palate dominated by the freshness of Syrah and its light spices then complemented by the roundness of Grenache.
A gourmet wine to share with friends between 10 and 12 ° C and drink now. For a wine around 10 €, I appreciated having succumbed to the temptation. I reserve the second bottle for a tapas aperitif.
